An Incomplete Manifesto For GrowthESAD 2021/2022
"The “Incomplete Manifesto for Growth” was not written as a heavy political text. It was simply an offering, incomplete, of a way of thinking about creative life. I first presented it at a design conference in Amsterdam. The reaction surprised me. Chee Pearlman asked to publish it in I. D. magazine, the magazine that she was editing at the time. I was astonished when this short document I had written spread throughout the world, with translations into dozens of languages. Since then, it has been used as a design project for a great number of students and spawned a multitude of creative interpretations, a few of them seen in the previous pages. I experienced firsthand the power of the Manifesto to implement change. “An Incomplete Manifesto for Growth” was an early poetic prototype for MC24, without the rigor of process and methodology that has since emerged."
